History Dante was bred and born at a breeding facility deep in Johto, a filthy building designed to merely produce powerful pokemon to sell to shady trainers. He was quickly thrust into a battle as soon as he was able to stand, and since that moment, he knew nothing but fighting his entire childhood. While the humans running the business kept the battles between children easy enough, they grew steadily more and more life threatening as he and his dozens of litter mates grew older.

However, this dingy, bleak lifestyle didn't affect the youth much, as it was all he knew. And what was more, he was one of the favorites, sometimes treated with nutrients and treats to further his stats. But even as he rose in popularity with the breeders themselves, he paid his attention to a small zorua by the name of Delia. As kits, they were nearly inseparable, playing and having fun together when their own lives were so dark and gloomy in the shadows of the humans that governed them. They were together, as close as brother and sister, and nothing could change that.

However, Fate is a cruel mistress, and as soon as Dante evolved, he was whisked away from his psuedo-sister to be put into the larger, more dangerous fights against the harder opponents. He seldom, if ever, saw Delia then, his days too blurred with blood and teeth to be able to sneak to see her. When Dante beat down one of the most powerful pokemon availbale at the business, the owner decided to, instead of selling Dante at a very pretty price, keep him and further the houndoom's bloodline. With him, the human would be able to breed more powerful houndour, and so, Dante's life was set.

He was treated with something closer to love than he'd ever gotten from a human, allowed to rest and enjoy life. He no longer was thrust into battle, and for that, he was grateful. In time, he was introduced to another pokemon, a feline by the name of Regina. He found love in her, and for a sweet, wonderful moment, he was content, peaceful... happy. He would be able to put his terrible childhood to rest behind him as he went forward with his newfound mate.

Once more, though, it seemed like the Legends above would not let him hold onto such luxuries. While he was out hunting one particularly rainy day, gunshots and screams echoed through the air, alarming him to something terrible afoot back home. He ran as fast as he could only to arrive at a bloodied, silent scene. Upon investigating, following the bloodied tracks up into his home, he saw none other than Delia, feasting on Regina's warm corpse. She lunged for him, the image of her eyes and teeth still haunts him to this day.

After he tried in vain to fight her, to kill her for what she'd done, he was unable; her little form was too swfit and agile for him as he found himself succumbing to grief. His life, his peace, his love-- all eaten by the demon he'd once called his sister. Vowing revenge, he set out after her, willing to go to any lengths to exact on her what she'd inflicted on him.

It wasn't long after that he began to encounter strange pokemon, things with dull red eyes, sluggish movements and rank of death. With these monsters becoming more and more frequent, he ventured north, finding that the world was now Hell itself, these "Undead" its denizens. He eventually made it into the Ice Path near Blackthorne, where he met a few other survivors like himself. There, they tried weaving through the labyrinth of a cave system, running from a white ghost of a pokemon that refused to die. Shortly after, a strange power lifted and teleported him and the others into a bleak, terrible snowstorm, some of them... not making it.

With who was left, he led them into Snowpoint City, where after a many mishap, they tried seeking shelter, hoping that maybe they would get enough rest to lick their wounds. There, Delia finally caught up to him and after a battle to the death, Dante precariously emerged the victor.

Sylus began life in a breeding vicinity in Johto under the watchful care of the business' owner. As one of the first successfully bred specimens, Sylus was lovingly praised and reared, the boss keeping him at his side as a symbol of his first achievement into a great trade of life. He was trained fiercely, but carefully, wanting Sylus to be the poster child for his entire business. As such, the then meowth soon had life under his paws, every employee doting on him, living the highest life money could buy. He was treated to Rare Candies and training, assurring he would never lose his precious throne atop the hierarchy of the lower pokemon that were bred.

He was a god to these filthy vermin.

They cowered as he passed, each remembering their first battle with him. It was custom that any pokemon opted to sell was pitted against him, their value hinged on how quickly he beat them. Each pokemon had tasted his claws, his teeth, and with so many battles beneath his belt, he had grown sadistic. Cherishing each of their defeats, it came as a shock and horrific surprise when he was actually beaten by none other than a dog.

The dog, named Dante, had bested him, and from that moment, his world was put upside down as his owner's love and care switched almost immediately to this new mongrel, and Sylus was all but cast aside. Forgotten, his place stolen, he was now a mere shadow on the premises, stealing food from bowls and other pokemon. His pride effectively crushed, he was now a broken creature, his mind clouded by his sudden need and thirst for a terrible revenge on the bastard who had dared robbed him of his life, and those who allowed it to happen.

And so, on a fitting stormy night, he snuck to a certain pokemon, just deemed too insane for anything other than euthanasia. She'd just managed to defeat a rather brute of a granbull-- "defeat" meaning she'd ripped his throat out and started eating him. But as he'd lurked in the shadows, he remembered her almost chanting Dante's name in a haunting sing-song voice. He whispered to her through the bars, telling her that some siren had stolen his heart... and that she should promptly take it back for herself. He unlatched the cage and watched, smirking, as she killed everyone and everything that tried stopping her. He vanished that night, relishing in the far-off cries of pain.

It was soon after he had his own problems to deal with in the form of the Undead, quickly assessing their threat with how quickly the main population of humans died. Cities burned, houses were leveled, and corpses now littered the streets and wilderness. Death was everwhere, and being a clever man, he learned quickly to adapt. He scavenged many months, living off the dead. He soon found himself in a place covered in snow, blanketed by a layer of ignorance and bliss. There were few undead here, and that was good enough for him.

Appearance Larger than the normal houndusk, and therefore, heavier. He's no stranger to built muscles, and holds himself with confidence. Not that this confidence exudes arrogance, but his harsh gaze will tell any onlooker that he doesn't take bullshit. He has a small scruff of stray furs on his chin, resembling a small patch of facial hair. His ice blue eyes are possibly the most striking of his features, as the color pops out from the darkness of the rest of his fur. His large horns arch back like a ram's, and in Houndusk terms, he is definitely Alpha material.

Sylus is a well-groomed specimen of his species, the only mar on his almost perfect form a rather nasty scar covering the left side of his face and part of his ear is missing.
    Personality Stubborn| Insensitive| Brash| Ethical| Unendingly Loyal| Leader| Paranoid| Callous| Gruff| Distant| Vengeful| Does not seek to please people

Dante always has been and always will be an asshole. However, this staple of his personality is padded by his good nature and definite morals, rounding him out to be an overall good person. Despite his bitching and moaning -and his tendency of asshole-ism- he truly does seek to protect those he cares for, putting their own safety and health above his own. Whether this was always instilled in him or was brought up from his inability to protect Regina is unknown to even him.

He is otherwise not the most pleasant pokemon to keep as company, his vocabulary often very colorful and blunt. He does not try to make people feel better or to sugarcoat a situation; what he says is very much how he feels and sees. Those who differ in opinion can go and shove their words up their asses for all he cares. Unless there is a glaring flaw in his perception, his mind won't budge.

A shadow, however, looms in his mind in the form of the zorua -now zoroark- that haunted him for over a year of searching. Even though he killed her himself, her words, her eyes, and the scene from that terrible night still dog his steps, as he will never truly be free of her. He still hears her, smells her, feels her and it terrifies him. As his own personal demon, Delia marks a state of mind that embodies his truest, deepest, darkest fear: insanity. To sink down into the depths as Delia had terrifies him, that he could so easily turn on those he loves like she had so long ago.

    Sleezy| Under-handed| Powerthirsty| Patient| Spiteful| Vengeful| Manipulative| Sadistic| Narcissistic| Extremely Prideful| Cowardly OVERALL A PRETTY NICE GUY

Sylus is one of the worst sorts of pokemon, others' lives meaning next to nothing to him other than a step toward his goal. Others are merely pawns to move about a board, their emotions the tinkering mechanics to their downfall. When he's not busy manipulating one person for his own benefit, he enjoys playing mind games for the sheer fun of it.

Any action he takes is normally cloaked in shadow, opting to work behind-the-scenes rather than an all-out brawl. He had always fought as such, other pokemon's sheer power useless against his shadowy tactics. Though he prides himself in his battling ability, he will often run from a fight should it prove too much for him, often sacrificing someone else to cover his escape.

Always one to hold even the smallest of grudges, Sylus never forgets a face or name, especially when the pokemon or person attached to it has wronged him. Never the forgiving sort, he normally exacts his revenge with death; the more painful, the better.

However, his one and true joy is himself. He loves himself, his beautiful fur and smooth, soothing voice. He is the epitome of charm, even with the dashing scar Dante had so graciously bequeathed him.

    User Notes
Has a growing loathing of ice and snow, after constantly being in the stuff
Tends to begrudgingly do favors for others

Changed Nature, level and rewrote history and personality for better cognitive story/ character development. Original profile is here.

My only note is that for Persian Night Slash is not a legal breed move. It can only be learned naturally by the species at level 61, no other way.

Oh, the natural moves of a pokemon can be passed down via both parents knowing the move, so that's what I meant by "breeding". .. If it's not ok, I can change it.

Ah so it seems you are correct. My mistake, it has been a long time since I bred the same species together lol. Make the appropriate addition to User Notes on the subject and there should be no problem.

    Approved.
