Teams and Legendary Areas

I have been wondering this for a while, but are we allowed to make teams at certain areas where Legendaries are normally found or originate from?

For example: There are the Faraway and Southern Islands of Hoenn, for Johto there is the Sinjoh Ruins, and for Sinnoh there are Sendoff Lake and Turnback Cave.

One could assume from the fact that Latias, Latios, Mew, and Arceus are all not at their areas that it would be fine to make a team there. A place such as Turnback Cave, though, might not be allowed due to the fact that Giratina is still around. Do you get my point?

I'm just trying to plan ahead for a future team, and wanted to make sure the efforts were not wasted :b

Since others are available to us, like Whirl Islands, Tin Tower and such as that, I would think at the very least Turnback Cave would be allowed. They are game canon and do not require extra download. However, for the special ones that do require download, and do not feature any wild pokemon, I'm not so sure. I'm leaning toward yes, but that's only my opinion.

Even though they are not populated by Pokemon in the games, it could be assumed that water-traveling Undead like Floatzel and Azumarill could wander to the island. Maybe Mewtwo's freakout (lol, there should be a rule called The Mewtwo Clause xD) also brought a rather fair number of Undead to the land? This could also mean that Sinjoh Ruins could be affected as well, since Undead ice-types could be wandering through the weather and a few may be teleported close to the Ruins themselves.

Faraway Island goes off the player's view in the game (you can check this on Bulbapedia), so it would seem that it could be big enough to carry a good number of them.

I could be behind that.

Agreed, that is acceptable.
Just mind that the legends are no longer there, obviously.
You can't meet any NPC legends.
